Covid positivity rate still falling

The 14-day positivity rate for Covid-19 testing in Greene County continues declining. Greene County public health director Becky Wolf reported positive tests were 7.7 percent of all tests in the last 14 days.  

The total number of Covid-19 cases in the county is 692. There have been no new cases in the last 24 hours, seven in the last three days, 19 in the last seven days, and 35 new cases in the last 14 days. Of the total, 101 are active cases.

Wolf reminds the public that it takes 2-14 days following the last contact with an infected person to develop symptoms.  “If you develop fever/chills, headache, body aches, fatigue, sore throat, running or stuffy nose, cough, shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or loss of sense of taste or smell, please isolate yourself from other household members, using a separate bathroom, if possible,” she said.

She also asked persons to wait until at least 48 hours after the onset of symptoms to seek testing.

The public health Covid hotline, 515-386-0564, is available Monday-Friday, from 8 am to 4:30 pm.
